Provide students with 5x8 cards and ask them to write one important event or accomplishment in Robert Jackson's life on each card.
Each card should name the event or accomplishment (e.g., born on February 13, 1892 in Spring Creek, Pennsylvania), and additional details if appropriate.
Have students either stand in front of the classroom with their cards in chronological order or place them on a string stretched across the classroom to form a timeline of Jackson’s life.
Have students research any missing events and add them to the timeline. The timeline should include most of the events found in Robert H. Jackson: New Deal Lawyer, Supreme Court Justice, Nuremberg Prosecutor by Gail Jarrow on pages 112-113.
Students might select one or two events and write a short report about the event and why it was so important in Robert H. Jackson’s life.
Have students present their reports to the class in chronological order as they recount the key events.
