Students can complete their study of the life of Robert H. Jackson by preparing a final project that addresses the question: How did Justice Robert H. Jackson’s life show us how to protect the civil and human rights of others? Students should select from one or more of the following examples or events in Jackson’s life:

  1. Jackson’s early life and role as a public servant and New Deal lawyer
  2. Jackson’s service as solicitor general and attorney general of the United States
  3. Jackson’s role as associate justice of the United States Supreme Court
  4. Jackson’s role as chief United States prosecutor at the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg

Students can present their projects in a variety of formats such as small group presentations, webcasts, web pages, written reports, audiovisual presentations, or in other appropriate ways. Students can also present their projects to organizations in their local communities to educate others about the life and accomplishments of Robert H. Jackson.
